Learning Lab Wichita was designed with educators, learners and families in mind. Our centralized location inside the second story of Wichita’s historic Union Station ensures most Wichitans can arrive at the Lab quickly.
When designing our space, architects at Alloy Architecture worked with our team to prioritize flexibility. Walls and furniture easily move so educators and learners can make the space what their unique group needs it to be.

Our workshop spaces are temporary homes for our resident models, who are forging new pathways in K-12 education. Open workshops also can be reserved for member use. The furniture, natural lighting and access to tools they need make Learning Lab the perfect first stop on a new school’s journey.
All three of our commons areas create a comfortable place to spark touchpoints for new relationships to form between different groups of educators and learners. A variety of furniture can be rearranged to suit members’ and residents’ needs.
Our six specialty spaces are shared between residents, members and guests. These spaces were designed for personalized learning: podcast studio, digital studio, video studio, makerspace, mess lab and print lab.
The specialty spaces also can be booked using membership credits to ensure maximized use of the amenities inside.
Sometimes, learning is done best in smaller groups. That is why we have huddle spaces–to provide space to share learning experiences with fewer numbers of people.
Our 4,000 square feet of patio space allows plenty of room for learners to get some sunshine with beautiful views of downtown Wichita. Like the heart of a home, our shared warming kitchen draws people together in the middle of our space.
